About the Speakers

Russell Evans

Prior to founding Planetshakers Church in Melbourne, Australia, Russell Evans served under his father’s ministry at Paradise Church in Adelaide, South Australia. He has also served as the national leader of Australia’s Youth Alive movement and as one of his denomination’s state executives.

In February 2004, Russell and his wife, Sam, founded Planetshakers Church. It has since grown to 12,000 members. Their annual conference, which has grown to over 25,000 attendees, donates millions of dollars each year to promote and sustain social justice around the world.

Sam Evans

In 1997 Sam Evans began the journey which is now known as Planetshakers with her husband, Russell. What started as a humble youth conference with the mandate to ‘empower generations to win generations’ has now grown and developed into a global ministry and church ministering to millions of people all over the world through dynamic preaching and passionate praise and worship music with an emphasis on personal encounters with God.

Sam has the privilege of serving her local church as co-lead pastor in Melbourne where the first Planetshakers Church was started in 2004 and has grown to more than 12,000 members. Her main involvement is with discipleship and training, the various conferences they host, music and worship and implementing the vision of Planetshakers locally and globally. Chris Durso

Chris Durso and his wife, Yahris, are the youth pastors at Misfit NYC, where together with their team passionately lead the next generation of New York City every Friday night from Christ Tabernacle church in Queens, NY. Chris and Yahris currently reside in New York City with their two children, Dylan and Chloe. Their passion for bringing the gospel to the next generation of NYC is best explained by Romans 12:1-2 (The Message):

“Take your everyday, ordinary life– your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life–and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God.”

John Gray

After accepting Christ into his heart at the early age of seven, John Gray has gone on to become an unstoppable evangelistic force. Utilizing all the gifts God has given him—music, acting, comedy and preaching—John Gray has had the opportunity to preform alongside stars such as Kirk Franklin, DC Talk and Out of Eden. He has also had the privilege to make an impact for the kingdom through directing, producing and co-producing award-winning films, releasing two musical albums, a comedy DVD and appearing on hit TV shows “Sister, Sister” and “Tyler Perry’s The House of Payne”.
