Purim: The Rich Story of Deliverance
Purim is here! Purim is a holiday that commemorates the Jewish people’s victory over the dark anti-Semitic forces in ancient Persia [modern Iran]. The Jewish Holiday of Purim was celebrated this week in Israel and around the world.
I love this holiday because it pokes fun at the senseless hatred towards the Jewish people. One of the key elements of this celebration is reading the entire book of Esther. In the book of Esther we see God deliver the Jewish people from Haman’s plot to destroy us. The book of Esther is referred to by the Jewish people as the rich story of deliverance.
In the story of Esther, God is never mentioned by name, yet He is the Mastermind behind the scenes. I encourage you to read the book of Esther this month and allow God speak to you about your circumstances. Let Him remind you that He is in control and you can trust Him to protect you and fight your battles.
