There is no better time than now to choose faith over fear. We are living in an incredible season where we are entering springtime and kicking off the first of the spring holidays. In English we call it Passover, or in Hebrew Pesach.
I love this holiday so much because it is jam packed with symbolism pointing towards Yeshua, salvation, and how faith overcomes fear. Pesach is an eight day holiday that celebrates the freedom from slavery that occurred 3,000 years ago when God liberated the people of Israel from Egyptian bondage.
See, the Jewish people were slaves in Egypt for over 400 years! While they were enslaved, Pharaoh became nervous that they were going to grow strong enough to overthrow his reign. So, he had the first born of every Israelite family killed. Moses, of course, escaped and God used Moses to liberate the Jewish people from slavery.
God asked Moses to go to Pharaoh and tell him to let His people go. Pharaoh refused and God sent ten plagues to change his mind. In the tenth plague, God sent an angel of death to go through Egypt.
Each Israelite family was instructed to sacrifice a lamb and smear the blood of the lamb on the doorposts of their houses. Through this, the angel would know to ‘pass over’ the houses of the Israelites. This is why the festival commemorating the escape from Egypt is known as Passover.
The month we are in now is called Nisan which comes from the Hebrew word Nissim, meaning “miracles.” This can and should be a month of miracles for you and your family!
We see the miracle of God saving the Jewish people from slavery, the miracle of Yeshua dying on the cross to pay the price for our salvation, and I believe there is a personal miracle for your life as well that God wants to reveal to you during this time. As you choose faith over fear like the Israelites did, God will work a miracle in your life.
Shalom,
