Recently, while in Israel, Daystar’s Vice President of Affiliate Relations, Steve Wilhite, sat down with Mayor Nir Barkat of Jerusalem. The two men discussed many of the wonderful things going on in the city of Jerusalem today.
Although it is a fully modern city, Mayor Barkat stressed that Jerusalem is still connected to its storied past. “On a daily basis we find layers and layers of history unfolds, totally connected to the Bible,” he said. In addition, there are new and exciting events happening all the time, like the Light Festival in the old city and Opera Week at Sultan’s Pool.
Not only are there interesting things to do in Jerusalem, it is also one of the most secure places in the world. Said Steve Wilhite, “I feel very safe here in your city.” Mayor Barkat stressed that there are fewer murders per capita in Jerusalem than in most U.S. cities.
The men wrapped up their discussion by sharing the importance of “Israel Now News,” Daystar’s newest original program. “We are eager to have unbiased, truthful people that are willing to report the view on the street the way it is” said Mayor Barkat. “We are thankful for what you’re doing, bringing the truth from Israel to the world.”
