The Tragedy. The Aftermath. The Reconstruction.
As the normal routine of the day begins in our nation’s capital, the doors of From the Heart Christian School open as teachers wait for their students. Filled with excitement and anticipation, Renata Wilson enters the school ready for her third week of first grade. But, at 9:50 a.m., everything changes. Renata hears the deafening screams of the teacher next door. Suddenly, the teacher from next door rushes into the room with her cell phone in hand trying to find a good spot for reception. Frantically, she tries to get in contact with her husband who works in the Pentagon. After what seems like an eternity, she speaks with her husband and finds out he is safe. The day was September 11, 2001.
Since 9/11, many people live with the fear of another attack. But, the fight is fixed! No man can stop God’s plan from unfolding. We are under the covenant of grace. No matter what life may look like today, Christ will always remain King!
Today, we not only reflect on the day that ultimately changed this nation forever, but we remember the lives that were carelessly taken and we pray for the recovery of lost souls. We won’t ever forget the tragedies of September 11, 2001, but we also can’t forget to stay united in Christ.
Although it may seem like we live in the most uncertain of times, we serve an all-powerful God who isn’t concerned with the distractions of this world. Even on a day like today, with so much pain and grief, we have to remember Christ’s ultimate sacrifice. Christ knew the great glory that awaited after the cross. There will be joy on the other side of these hard times! But, in order to get to the mountain you have to walk through the valley.
Please join Daystar in praying for our nation, as well as all of the families who lost loved ones on this day 13 years ago. And remember to share this blog with all your friends and family through social media as a reminder to never forget those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
