Daystar Television Network made a $19,000 donation to Canon Andrew White’s ministry in Iraq, an organization that is working tirelessly to aid Iraqi Christians displaced by ISIS throughout the past year. This donation comes on the heels of a matching donation challenge issued by Daystar President and CEO Marcus Lamb to viewers around the world during the network’s flagship program, Marcus and Joni. With this additional donation, Daystar has donated a total of $95,000 toward this cause.
Canon Andrew White has served as an ambassador to Iraq for many years, and even led multiple hostage negotiations with Yasser Arafat, former Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization, in an attempt to bring peaceful problem solving to the Middle East.
Currently Canon White is helping to provide relief and food to many Christians who have been displaced by ISIS and are currently in hiding because of their beliefs. Daystar’s donation will go towards these efforts, helping to provide aid to Christians throughout the country.
“The Apostle Paul said in Acts 20:35, “…I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive,’” and this is the heart of Daystar,” says Marcus Lamb, President and CEO of Daystar Television network. “We are blessed to be a blessing with an additional gift of $19,000 to Canon Andrew White for his ministry helping Iraqi Christians displaced by ISIS in recent months.”
