Daystar Partners, below is a special message and exclusive update from Streams Ministries regarding John Paul Jackson’s passing. Please read, share and continue to be praying for Streams Ministry and John Paul Jackson’s family during this season.
As many of you watched John Paul’s memorial on Daystar you heard a handful of men and women describe John Paul Jackson the man. You heard first and foremost that he was a man of integrity who pursued God passionately his entire life. You heard others describe his incredibly accurate gift of prophecy and how he was a forerunner in the area of Bible-based dream interpretation.
God freely gave John Paul the gift of prophecy, the ability to understand dreams and visions, and allowed him to have supernatural, spiritual experiences so unique that he could only sum them up as strange events. These were all gifts from God, and you may have heard him say on many occasions that he didn’t do anything to deserve them. Whenever John Paul spoke about his intimate, supernatural experiences with God, he often wept. Why did God choose him? That question haunted him his entire life, and it drove him to impart this foundational truth into every one of his teachings:
Gifts and supernatural experiences are just that—gifts. You’ve done nothing to deserve them. But character isn’t a gift. Character is more important than your spiritual gifts, and it has to be developed.
John Paul could have had a successful ministry based completely on the gifts and experiences God gave him. He could have said yes to every offer and entitlement that comes when someone is so visibly touched with a powerful gift from God.
Had John Paul chosen that easier path his memorial would’ve still been filled with enjoyable stories about a spiritually-gifted man who God used to touch people all around the world. We would’ve still been left with a sense that his life and his gift would be missed by the Church.
However, the loss of John Paul Jackson struck many on a much deeper level. Why? We believe his loss cut deeper because he wasn’t just a teacher, he was a father.
“For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers.” – 1 Corinthians 4:15
The difference between the two, I believe, is in the heart that drives someone to share what they’ve been given and studied. John Paul’s heart for those he trained was that they become everything God created them to be.
“A true father isn’t jealous when his son hits more homeruns than he did in high school, he’s ecstatic.” – John Paul Jackson
John Paul saw each of us in light of where God was taking us, and because of this, some of the most powerful prophetic words he ever spoke, he wasn’t even aware he was speaking. To the person who received that word, a seed of their God-given destiny sprung to life.
Many of you never met John Paul in person, but you grieve his loss as if you had. That’s because he spoke a seed of destiny into your life as well.
Streams Ministries will continue John Paul’s mission of “revealing God, awakening dreams, and changing lives.” This is the legacy that John Paul left with Streams Ministries. He’s imparted in each of us the spiritual DNA to continue the mission—and we will!
Our prayer as a ministry is that each of you continues to pursue Jesus and the unique mission He’s placed in your heart. We will continue to provide training, media and resources to help you do that because that’s what Jesus has put in our hearts to do. John Paul has books and teachings that were in the works and we’ll do our best to share those with the world.
