Daystar Television Network has made an additional $1,850 donation to Canon Andrew White and his ministry in Iraq, bringing the total donated so far to over $112,000.
The donation, which began as a $10,000 gift announced on Daystar’s flagship program “Marcus and Joni,” has grown substantially as Daystar partners and viewers around the world have continued to donate towards the cause.
Canon Andrew White has served as an ambassador to Iraq for many years, and serves as Chaplain of St. George’s Anglican Church in Baghdad, a position he has held since 1998. He is also the founder and president of the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East, an organization that aims to provide a spiritual home, medical care, humanitarian relief and reconciliation among different religious groups in the heart of Baghdad’s Red Zone.
Currently Canon White is helping to provide relief and food to the many Iraqi Christians who have been displaced and are currently in hiding because of their beliefs. Daystar’s donation will go towards these efforts, helping to provide aid to Christians throughout the country.
