Daystar Television Network recently donated over $5,500 to a number of poor Filipino families living in the city of Baganga, Davao Oriental, Philippines. The donation, which was made just before New Year’s Eve, went towards covering the cost of a special New Year’s Eve meal for 5,000 Filipino families living in the area.
“A loaf of bread, a sachet of margarine, and cocoa powder might not excite Americans, but Daystar was able to bless 5,000 poor Filipino families with this meal on New Year’s Eve for a gift of only $5,744,” remarks Marcus Lamb, President and CEO of Daystar Television Network. “We feel honored to have had the opportunity to be a blessing to these people as they celebrated the close of another year. We have so much to be thankful for!”
Daystar has a heart for the Philippines, and recently partnered with a nearby orphanage – Samaritan’s Place – to provide NIV Bibles to the orphans, along with a $5,000 donation given towards the improvement and growth of the orphanage facilities.
Additionally, when the destructive typhoons hit the Philippines in 2013, Daystar had the opportunity to assist during the aftermath through a $30,000 donation to help provide relief to those affected.
