In response to the recent flooding crisis in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Daystar Television network has donated $150,000 to Bethany World Prayer Center, a local church in the area, to be used to help assist and restore the community.
The donation came in response to a $10,000 matching donation challenge made live over the air by Daystar’s President and CEO Marcus Lamb on the network’s flagship program, “Marcus and Joni.”
“As many of you remember, I challenged you, our viewers, with a $ 10,000 matching pledge to help the many victims that suffered great loss during the floods in Louisiana,” says Marcus Lamb. “Tears came to my eyes as I was informed that, because of your response, we were able to send a check to Bethany World Prayer Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the amount of $ 150,000. Rest assured that they will disburse the funds where needed. I know we must have the cream of the crop when it comes to Daystar partners and I honor you for your compassion and generosity. I thank you and pray God’s blessings on each of you that contributed in this effort.”
The funds, which went directly to Bethany World Prayer Center, were used to not only bring relief to the immediate needs of the Baton Rouge community, but also help to rebuild for the future.
“We are so grateful to the wonderful partners of Daystar for helping us to help churches and people in our community that lost everything,” says Jonathan Stockstill, Pastor of Bethany World Prayer Center. “We have used the funds to give meals and supplies to those in need. We have also been able to use a large part of the funds given to directly bless local churches that lost their buildings. The work is immense, but Daystar has been right alongside is every step of the way”
Daystar partners – thank you so much for your generosity in giving towards the relief and reconstruction of this community in need. You are helping to bring the love of Christ all across America!
