You won’t want to miss today’s “Marcus and Joni”, with special guests Elder Maurice Brown and Pastor Shane Warren
Elder Maurice Brown was born in Aurora, Illinois. He is the oldest of five children born to Mr. And Mrs. Eugene C. Brown, Sr. Under the leadership of Bishop W.H. Bonner, Greater Mount Olive COGIC, Maurice began singing in the Sunshine Band at preschool age. He later joined the adult choir at age 13 and was astute enough to perform as lead soloist. He accepted his call to the ministry at the early age of twelve. Throughout his teenage years he was known as one of The Brown Brothers, – a duo with his younger brother Eugene. He also sang in numerous churches in the Chicago area and remembers a special opportunity to perform for the mayor.
Young Maurice joined the military and was stationed in northern California for several years. During that time he sang all over the Bay area and performed with such artists as Yolanda Adams, John P. Kee, Orlando Draper, and others. He became a member of Greater Victory Temple Church of God in Christ in Seaside, California, where Bishop W.W. Hamilton is the Senior Pastor. It was at this same time that he was ordained as an Elder in June of 1994.There, Elder Maurice met and married his wife Aronda Jones Brown. They have two children, Sheniah Mauret’ and Maurice II.
At Greater Victory Temple, the Lord used and elevated the ministry given to Elder Maurice. He worked as an Adjutant, Youth Pastor, Praise Leader, Trainer, Director and Assistant Minister of Music. In the summer of 2005 the Browns relocated to North Texas where Elder Maurice served as the Praise and Worship leader and Minister of Music at Shiloh Institutional COGIC, Dr. Sherman CG Allen, Senior Pastor until 2011. In 2011 Elder Brown was hired and currently serves as the Director of Fine Arts and Music at The Potters House of Fort Worth, Patrick Winfield, Campus Pastor; Bishop T.D. Jakes, Senior Pastor. God has opened many doors on his behalf allowing him to minister in song at churches worldwide. Elder Maurice has made appearances on TBN “Praise The Lord”, The Word Network and the vocal on Bishop T.D. Jake’s “Let it go” project. He is also featured on the WTAL (Woman Thou Art Loosed) 2011 project. Through it all, the one scripture that has really become an icon to Elder Brown is Romans 8:28, “and we know that ALL things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose…”
Pastor Shane Warren was called to preach at the age of twelve through a supernatural visitation. After preaching his first message at twelve, he continued to passionately pursue God and his ministry call throughout his teenage years.
In 1991, he earned dual Bachelors from Lee University with a B.A., in Theology and B.S., in Education. His unique, dynamic ability to communicate has made him a sought-after speaker and teacher. His insight, revelation, and heart for the lost have blessed him with the opportunity to minister to people worldwide through leadership conferences, retreats, church growth seminars, mentoring programs, and crusades. His burden for hurting humanity, helping ministries and igniting the flames of revival is the driving force behind his ministry.
He is respected inter-denominationally for his teaching, preaching, and church growth philosophies. Listed as one of “America’s Who’s Who,” he has been recognized by the Governors of Louisiana and Tennessee, as well as by and city leaders for his transformational work in his community. Under his leadership, The Assembly in West Monroe has been repeatedly voted as “The Place to be on Sunday” in Louisiana.
Pastor Warren is a published author, appears regularly on major Christian networks and serves as the President of The Voice Network™, a twenty-four hour Christian television station that covers the Northeast Louisiana and Southern Arkansas regions.
