Bio
Denny Duron is a pastor, coach, entrepreneur, inventor, educator, author, composer, producer, communicator, motivator and student of God’s Word. His burning desire is to awaken destiny one heart at a time. Denny is the pastor of Shreveport Community Church in Shreveport, Louisiana and Northpoint Community Church in Bossier City, LA. He is married to DeAnza and is the father of six children, Destiny 30, DawnCheré 28, Denny Rodney 26, Dez 22, David Dee 20, and Dakota 18. He is also the grandfather of Carolina Lee Deas 15 months.
Pastor Denny’s ministry actually began on the football field as a player at LA Tech University. As a quarterback in the seasons of 1972 and 1973, Denny led the Bulldogs to two national championships and a 24-1 record. He was twice named all Southland Conference first team quarterback and in 1973 was chosen as the Southland Conference Most Valuable Offensive Player.
In addition to his honorable mention All American recognition his senior season, he was drafted in the second round by the Birmingham Americans of the new “World Football League.” Denny played two years at Birmingham and then signed with the Washington Redskins in 1976. It was there in training camp that he first heard the call of God to take his life in a different direction. The Washington Star carried the headline the next day “Even Redskins no match for the call of God.”
Denny’s most recent venture along with DeAnza has been their roles as Coach Mom and Coach Dad at School of the Legends.com, an NFL players and coaches site that has trained with the NFLPA to provide information and inspiration to young players and fans of all ages.
At age 60, Denny and DeAnza have turned their attention to their children’s dreams and are seeking through prayer and encouragement to bring support and strength. Denny’s parents Rodney and Frances Duron were the perfect examples of that in his own life and says he will always be grateful for their love and influence. He only hopes he can now pay it forward!
