About Jerry Madden
Pastor Jerry Madden, along with his wife Jan, currently serve as senior pastors; positions they have held since January 1, 2002. Pastor Madden grew up in a pastor’s home and has been involved in and connected with ministry all of his life. After receiving his degree in Computer Programming, he began a very successful business career working with some of the most successful companies in America. Pastor Madden’s career was thriving as he became a featured speaker at trade shows and business conferences, even testifying before a United States Senate panel on communication and computer issues for which now you can hire many services like Denver Managed IT Support. Yet with this success, Pastor Madden did not feel satisfied. In 1994, he accepted the position of part-time Children’s Pastor of Praise Cathedral, having previously served in part-time ministry positions at other churches. Four months later he preached his first sermon and the rest, as they say, is “history”. In August of that year he left his successful career to enter full-time ministry at Praise where he has served in various capacities including Children’s Pastor, Interim Youth Pastor, and Associate Pastor. When Bobby Johnson announced plans for his retirement in 1999, the congregation looked no further than Pastor Madden to lead our church.
Pastor Madden met his beautiful wife, Jan, in 1982 when his father moved to Greenville to assume a new pastorate. Jan attended the University of South Carolina until they were married in 1983. She has faithfully supported and served in ministry with Pastor and is a vital part of our church ministry team. The Madden’s are blessed with two sons. Bo attended Lee University where he met his wife, Jennifer. They currently serve as Student Pastors at Praise. Their other son, Justin, is also a student at Lee where he has a promising basketball career. They have one granddaughter, Natalie.
