Bio
Tom Hayden’s family first came to Texas in the 1870’s. As a teenager his great grandfather ran Cattle on the old trails, and in 1890 he purchased a ranch in West Texas between Cisco and Albany which is still in the Family. His Grandfather was an attorney in Abilene and served as Mayor and District Attorney during the 30’s and 40’s.
Hayden grew up in Lexington, KY, where his father was a Math Professor at the University of Kentucky for 50 years. He attended college up the road at Marshall University where he received a Bachelors and Masters in Finance. While there, Hayden was President of the Student Body and served on the West Virginia Board of Trustees, the governing body for Higher Ed in the State.
He and his wife, Karen, have resided in Flower Mound since 1995 and have three children. He is employed as the Investment Officer of a local Life Insurance Company where he manages a billion dollar fixed income portfolio. For the last three years he has had the pleasure to serve on Flower Mound’s Town Council in Place 5.
