Jason Castro is a Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter. He was the fourth place finalist on the seventh season of American Idol. Jason Casto was born to Columbian parents in Dallas, TX and raised in Rowlett, TX. Castro started drumming at the age of 11, playing music in the youth ministry and joining his father in leading worship. He didn’t really start singing and playing the guitar until he was in college. After American Idol released his self titled debut with Atlantic Records, he went on to join the I Am Second campaign to speak publicly about his faith. In 2013 Castro released his CD, Only A Mountain. He is married to Mandy and has a daughter Madeline.
