About Dr. Robb Thompson
Dr. Robb Thompson is a man with a mission to see people walk in greater excellence in life, business, and leader- ship. He is acutely aware that there are unlimited programs and resources available in our world today, yet we remain with a shortage of leaders and an increase in scandals that shake our confidence in business, government, as well as the church. When our leaders refuse to focus on character development and excellence, they fall short and become sorely lacking.
History is replete with leaders such as Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, and others whose leadership abilities enabled them to rise to positions of great influence, but whose lack of character resulted in the use of tyran- ny and fear that destroyed nations. Newspapers remain filled with stories of corporate leaders whose leadership abilities gave them great influence, but whose lack of character ruined those who trusted in them.
Jim Jones, Ivan Boesky, and David Koresh were influential leaders, but their lack of character resulted in the death and financial ruin of many. Ivan Boesky is even quoted as saying, “Greed is all right – by the way, I think greed is healthy. You can be greedy and still feel good about yourself.” Robb Thompson realizes that leadership ability alone is inadequate, and even incorporating “best practices” to achieve business excellence is insufficient. He acknowledges that, in order to positively impact society, corporate and government leaders must have a foundation of strong personal character – character that results in a code of ethics that is invaluable in governing personal and corporate behavior.
Why is this important? Character-centered leadership leads to workplace excellence, which, in turn, leads to good business. And good business leads to a strong community. Everyone wins when character is the foundation of all decisions. However, when character is lacking, all men lose. Robb Thompson is known for expanding the leadership capabilities of individuals in the public and private sector, including profit, nonprofit, and governmental organizations. He has had tremendous impact on government and corporate leaders world-wide. When we equip people with character, excellence, and leadership ability, we create a lifeline for a better tomorrow.
