About Steve Amerson
On a normal Sunday, one will find Steve singing in a church someplace in North America and on many Mondays he will be in the studio singing for a movie or television show or singing about the qualities of a certain automobile or airline for a commercial. To some it might seem strange, but for Steve Amerson it’s all part of being salt and light in a tasteless and dismal world.
His voice can be heard on many movies and television shows including Meet the Robinsons, Matrix Revolutions, Matrix Reloaded, King Kong, Fantastic Four, The Patriot, Amistad, Contact, Indiana Jones; Temple of Doom, Glory, Home Alone, Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin, Cheers, Designing Women, St. Elsewhere, Touched by an Angel, The Hunt for Red October, The Flintstones and commercials for Ford Trucks, Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Kibbles & Bits, US Sprint, Spree, Mercedes, Texaco, IBM and Delta Airlines.
He has been a guest soloist for many special events including Billy Graham Crusades in the United States and Canada, the National Religious Broadcasters Convention, the Christian Booksellers Convention and Founders Week at Moody Bible Institute. On numerous occasions, Steve has ministered alongside well-known pastors and authors including Charles Swindoll, Jack Hayford and David Jeremiah. Steve has also been a featured soloist with virtually every major performing organization in Southern California and has made numerous solo appearances at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and the Hollywood Bowl. In 2006, Steve made his Carnegie Hall debut singing in the world premiere of Missa Americana by Ed Lojeski.
He is one of three tenors chosen to record demonstration tapes used by Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras in preparation for The 3 Tenors performances including their 1994 Dodger Stadium concert, the 1998 Paris concert and the 2002 Japan concert.
Some of Steve’s best training has come from his upbringing as the son of a United Methodist pastor. Steve is a living witness of the church’s ministry in both the sacred and secular music communities. He is deeply committed to quality music of all styles, which will bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Steve and his wife, Kristine and children, Matthew and Katherine live in Granada Hills, California.
