Cal Thomas is one of America’s most popular syndicated columnists and author of the new book, What Works: Common Sense Solutions for a Stronger America.
His columns appear in hundreds of newspapers nationwide and he is one of the most highly regarded conservative voices on the American political scene today. Thomas also writes the Common Ground column for USA Today (with his liberal Democrat friend, Bob Beckel) and regularly appears on Fox News.
As a 45-year veteran of broadcast and print journalism, Thomas has been observing the dysfunction in Washington for decades. He began his career in radio, TV and print at the age of 16. This year marks the 30th anniversary of his syndicated column. He has worked for NBC, CNBC, PBS television, and Fox News. He has appeared on “NBC Nightly News,” “Nightline,” the “Today” show, “Good Morning America,” CNN’s “Crossfire,” “Larry King Live” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
In 1995, Thomas was honored with a Cable Ace Award nomination for Best Interview Program. Other awards include a George Foster Peabody team reporting award, and awards from both the Associated Press and United Press International.
He is the author or co-author of numerous books that address politics, popular culture and faith.
