Bio

Pastor Bill Purvis grew up in Eufaula, Alabama. His story is one that is evidence of God’s grace and ability to change lives. On April 28th, 1974, Bill was stabbed three times with a butcher knife and left for dead. Two weeks prior to his spiritual conversion, a young witness nervously knocked on his door. He quickly told Bill, “Every you are looking for can be found in Jesus.” It was in his dying state that Bill remembered the awkward exchange. Right then and there, he repented of his sins and cried out to God, receiving Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. That became the turning point of his life. His transformation resulted in an undeniable love for God and an urgency to tell others about Jesus. Bill later became pastor at Cascade Hills Church with no salary and only 32 people in the pews on Easter Sunday. Now he ministers to 8,000 people locally and has an international television audience through The Church Channel. Bill and his wife, Debbie, live in Columbus, Georgia and have three sons and six grandchildren.
