Build a City
Build a City is an innovative new initiative from People for Care and Learning (PCL) that has one primary focus – building a city for the people of Khan Dang Kao, Cambodia. For the hundreds of families living in extreme poverty in that region of Cambodia, a new city would mean a complete lifestyle change. Simple things like clean water, nutritious food, sanitation and suitable shelter that were once hard to come by would be readily available, vastly improving quality of life.
PCL has been working throughout Southeast Asia for more than a decade, improving communities and giving people hope for a better life. Build a City is an extension of this work, but will require the support of people around the world willing to partner with this worthwhile cause.
On Monday, April 13, Daystar will be airing a special 90-minute program featuring Dr. Fred Garmon, Executive Director of PCL. Dr. Garmon will explain the initiative in greater detail, highlighting ways in which you can get involved right from your home!

About Dr. Fred Garmon
Dr. Fred Garmon came to PCL as the Executive Director in August of 2005 following the retirement of the Founder, Bob Pace.
He was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership and is a University level lecturer and instructor— Fred integrates over 35 years of practical ministry experience with years of academic preparation in the field of Leadership Studies.
Dr. Garmon also serves on the Board of Directors of SOW – Serving Orphans Worldwide, is an adjunct professor at several universities, and is the founder of Leader Labs Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)3 providing consulting and leadership development solutions for marketplace leaders and nonprofit alike.
Fred is a marathon runner and was honored as an Olympic Torchbearer in 2002. He has been married to his wife, Shirley, since 1982. They have two daughters and two granddaughters.
