Rev. C. H. Spurgeon said, “Of all substances known to man, blood is the most mysterious, and in some sense, the most sacred.” Scripture teaches us that “life is in the blood”. Blood, therefore, is the mysterious link between matter and spirit. How is it then that the soul should have an alliance with matter through blood? That is simply something we cannot understand but it is certain that this mysterious link unites these dissimilar entities together so that the soul can inhabit the body and the life can rest in the blood. [pullquote4 align=”right” style=”width:300px;”]King of Kings
Kings and Queens have long since passed,
From ageless time evil sorts did rule.
Royal pomp and tyranny stood fast,
Slaying His prophets, their mission so cruel.
Conquering Caesars’ swords in devilish hand
Heaping pools of blood from Saints in vain.
Their thrones have fallen, vanity withstand,
Jezebel’s garment covered with martyr’s blood stain.
Eternity’s fire awaits both king and potentate
Who took life with selfish pride and evil rule;
And only the King of Kings in royal estate,
Conquers all from Calvary’s bloody pool.[/pullquote4] Clearly God has attached enormous sacredness to the shedding of blood.Dr. R. Paisley said that ours is a “bloodstained gospel. The Blood of the cross is the center, but it flows in a mighty torrent to the circumference. It is the axis around which the entire Kingdom revolves. In the Divine eyes, the heavens are bloodmarked, the earth is bloodmarked and the elect are bloodmarked. We bow before a Bloodstained Throne, once a fiery throne of judgment, and now of mercy. The Church is a Bloodstained Church purchased with a price most precious. Prick the body of heavenly divinity anywhere and out pours the life tide of Emmanuel.”If it weren’t for the atoning blood, you might as well destroy the church, but as long as the blood is on the mercy seat (Lev. 16:14), the sinner can return. You and I are not redeemed by silver or gold but by the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. Ruthless and lawless men and women from ages past have tried to silence the redeemed, but the Power of His shed blood still reigns supreme. When Christ returns will you be able to say, “I know Him, and I have been washed in His blood and am born again by the spirit of God?” The faithful God keeps covenant, loves and cares for you, dear friend.But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7).The road built on hope is more pleasing to the traveler as it guides him towards the right path. Though narrow at first, it always expands to grace and divine guidance.
