Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Matthew Henry once said, “Those who live a carnal, sensual life must expect no other fruit from such a course than misery and ruin. But those who, under the guidance and influences of the Holy Spirit, live a life of faith in Christ, and abound in Christian graces, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”[pullquote4 align=”right” style=”width:300px;”]Faint Not
Weary pilgrim faint not along the way
Bend not neath the load of thy cross.
Ever upward thy face must stay,
Swaying not, though heavy is the cost.
Midst those who would thrust thee through
He will never leave thee alone or lost.
His grace refreshes like the morning dew,
Duty bound to remove the dross.
Midst a world torn by sin and strife
The Savior beckons us to heed His call;
Sharing love to man and wife
And the tender heart to enthrall.
Rich the portion of heaven’s life
Glorious the day the Savior calls.
Granting sinners freedom from strife,
As grace abounds within her walls.
Free to walk the Savior’s holy way
Running swiftly from temptation.
From the tired call of those that stray
Walking victory’s path to salvation.
Safe my passage as oft I do pray
Amidst my journey to make my way home;
Warm the Hands of the Potter on the clay,
I stay on course till the seed is sown.[/pullquote4]There are several ways that the church can spiritually sustain us during difficult times: reading His word, prayer, fasting and attending church. Today the feuding factions of evil confront and stand in opposition to God’s children more than ever before. They test our faith (1 Peter 1:6-7. The loyal warrior of the cross grows fatigued from time to time as he brandishes the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). The tired combatant of the faith need remember that he must be “steadfast, unmovable always abounding in the work of the Lord knowing that his “labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58). In 1 Kings 19:4-7 Elijah was so tired he wanted to die, but as he slept under a juniper tree, an angel touched him and told him to arise and eat. He looked down to find a container of water and a cake that had been baked on hot coals. So far removed was the Lord from the notion of granting Elijah’s request to end his life that He provided an angel with food and water to give him strength for his journey. The vessel of water represents the strength of the Spirit. The cakes are the meat of His Word and the coal of fire is the power and fresh anointing of Christ. Like Elijah, dear friend, God will renew your strength and enable you to soar like an eagle over the obstacles of life. No matter what challenges we face today, Christ stands steadfastly by our side.

Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord

I can do all things through him who strengthens me
Hope is our faith and God’s promise that He will accompany us through life’s storms.
