One of the many horrible tragedies during the sinking of the Titanic was that many of those who made it into the water alive were left abandoned by half-empty lifeboats that rowed away without rescuing those still left in the water. Out of the twenty lifeboats rowing to safety, only one turned back to save a few more passengers. Over 300 of the 1,517 people who lost their lives that fatal night did so simply because those who were already safe in their boats refused to go back and rescue those still in the water. Unlike those who left behind their drowning shipmates, Jesus, our Life Boat of Grace, always reaches out to us in times of need. While the egocentric ideology of the world today lacks compassion, Christ stands ready to throw a lifeline woven from the fabric of the Cross and His Blood to any drowning soul.[pullquote4 align=”right” style=”width:300px;”]He Wants the Best for Us
My desire is your faith will ever increase
Hope for great blessings that will never cease,
Days over the meadow where skies are blue,
Where each and every dream comes true.
By your side is where I’ll stay,
Lending a hand as you kneel to pray;
Being there each time you call,
And making sure you never fall.
You will find Me when you seek,
And I will help make life complete;
For I will be there at your side,
As your best friend and your guide.
I’ll not let you walk the wrong road,
I’ll guide each footstep and share your load.
I will bless and grant your heart’s desire,
If you will pray with a heart of fire.[/pullquote4]When we kneel and pray, God gently guides us in the right direction. True happiness consists of knowing God through Christ as he accompanies us on our journey and eases our burdens along life’s sometimes treacherous highway. At the other end of the spectrum, walking without the infilling of the Holy Spirit is like walking in darkness. The Holy Spirit’s insightfulness will lead the Child of God to the path of righteousness – a path that guides us to higher ground and better days. Living in these troubled times we clearly need the Spirit’s discernment, strength and guidance.

If you’re going through an “up the creek without a paddle” experience, simply reach out in prayer to the One who can calm every storm and deliver you safely to the shore.
God is to us a God of deliverances and salvation (Psalm 68.20).
This psalm of quiet faith in God is powerful. It begins with a statement of faith and ends with peace. All our prayers must be like that; they must end with peace in our hearts and quiet resolve.
Faith always believes the unbelievable. Hope always prevails, even in the most dire of circumstances.
