I am on a journey
I run the race that is set
before me with endurance
by faith.
I am on a journey –
I have fought the good
fight, I have finished my course
I look unto Jesus
my author — the righteous
Judge who endured the cross –
that now waits me.
I am on a journey,
pressing on — that, when my
life is over, I shall behold
the One who is seated
at the right hand of the throne
of God.
I am on a journey
that when my
life is o’er, I shall
receive my crown
and hear Him say,
well done my good
and faithful servant.[/pullquote4]He breathed the breath of life into man giving us power to be ever vigilant against disillusionment and bewilderment. A soldier of the cross need not be dependent on the accolades of the world to maintain his self-esteem. With the power of God’s spirit living within us, it is entirely possible to have the presence of mind to have a deep awareness of who we are. Having the power to focus on our spiritual journey defuses the potentially dangerous forces that would catch us off guard and cause us to lose our way along life’s path (Psa.1:1-6).
When we walk with Him, it brings wholeness and completeness to body, spirit and soul. As He guides us along life’s highways, we find contentment and spiritual nourishment. His power gives us strength to overcome mental, emotional and physical pain and allows us to enjoy the blessings of life. Along our journey the great Shepherd removes heartbreak by teaching us to love and respect ourselves and others. Living free and staying free of life’s hurdles comes to those who rest in the strong arms of Christ (Hebrews 4.3). God is able to free you from the burdens of depression and anxiety. Learn to lean on the bosom of Christ; become His carrier of love and healing. Along your personal journey, find souls that need love and share the good teaching of Christ with them. Then, at life’s end, a crown of joy will await you. Walk closely with the Lord on your journey. He will always know the way.
“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).
Hope in God brings rest to the weary traveler and lightens the load.
