While James Robison believes media outreach is the most effective way to evangelize, he also feels strongly about helping those in need. In the United States, LIFE Outreach partners with a number of ministries that reach out to the homeless and the outcast. Much of the organization’s focus is in other parts of the world, where the physical needs are staggering. Currently, LIFE ministers in 40 nations on six continents. Throughout Africa, LIFE Outreach helps feed 425,000 children in crisis areas. Most recently, LIFE took part in launching a massive school feeding program to encourage school attendance and education. According to reports received from the field, the mission feeding programs have helped save the lives of seven million starving children. Medical clinics, orphanages, fruit and vegetable farms and food processing plants are also part of LIFE’s outreach in Africa. More than seven million Africans have accepted Christ since 1990 as a result of LIFE-sponsored crusades and the ministry that occurs at the feeding centers. Also, the ministry has drilled more than 2,000 fresh water wells in 30 nations on five continents, delivering critically needed clean water. “We do not want to duplicate ministry,” James says, emphasizing that LIFE Outreach works with other ministries already established in developing countries. “When we find an effective outreach, we try to undergird and strengthen it.” In keeping with this strategy LIFE Outreach has cooperated with Dayspring International’s dynamic film outreach in India. The Life of Christ showings have resulted in millions professing faith in Christ and 2,000 new churches. As the organization grows, James believes LIFE Outreach will help establish and strengthen effective outreaches in every population center throughout the world.
