Daystar Television has made an additional $36,000 donation toward Calcutta Mercy Ministries, Huldah Buntain’s India based ministry.
This donation comes on the heels of an original $210,000 donation Daystar made last year in response to a $100,000 matching donation challenge issued by Daystar’s founder Marcus Lamb on the network’s flagship program, Marcus and Joni.
Huldah Buntain has been a missionary to India for 60 years, and has worked tirelessly to establish a hospital and improve the quality of life for the poor living in Calcutta. Much of her ministry has been focused on assisting women living in the red light district, specifically in helping them receive an education. Daystar’s donation will go towards the development and construction of the Hope House – a project that, upon completion, will provide a home – and eventually an education – to the girls born into Calcutta’s red light district.
“On behalf of our partners worldwide, Joni and I, and the Daystar Television family are honored to donate an additional $36,000 to Huldah Buntain Foundation, assisting them to complete the construction on the Hope House, a home for 100 girls born into Calcutta’s red light district,” says Marcus Lamb, President and CEO of Daystar Television Network. “This is an opportunity to collaborate with Huldah Buntain Ministries and make an eternal impact on the lives of children and their mothers struggling to survive in the urban brothels.”
