Toward the end of 2014, Daystar made several sizeable donations to various ministries across the globe, adding to contributions made previously over the past few years. We feel grateful to be a blessing to these ministries, and are happy to report these donations to you, our partners, who have made all of this possible!
So, here are a few places where our partners have made a difference around the world over the past year:
2014 Tornado Victims – In 2014, tornadoes ravaged portions of the United States, and our partners stepped up to help those who lost so much during the storms. In total, Daystar has donated over $144,000 to those in need after the tornadoes.
Nancy Harmon Ministries – Evangelist Nancy Harmon was a guest on Marcus and Joni when Daystar chose to donate to her ministry. Our partners were faithful in continuing to contribute toward her ministry needs, bringing the total donated to over $3,000.
Typhoon Relief in the Philippines – When typhoons hit the Philippines in 2013, our partners stepped up and donated toward the relief effort in the aftermath of the storm. Because of this we were able to send over $30,000 overseas to help provide relief to those affected.
Carmel Community Church – In 2013, Daystar sent a team to India to assist Carmel Community Church, minister to the locals, and in addition, donated scooters to the pastors at Carmel Community, providing them with a means of transportation around the city of New Delhi. When Rev. Koshy Baby and Dr. Joicy Baby, pastors of Carmel Community Church, were guests on a recent episode of Marcus and Joni, a matching donation challenge was issued, and our partners have continued to give toward the development of the church. In total, Daystar has given $77,000 to the ministry.
The Irene Gleeson Foundation – Over the past two years, Daystar has donated over $600,000 to the Irene Gleeson Foundation to be used in the construction of a hospital for women and children in Uganda. Our partners have continued to contribute to this foundation that is doing so much to better the lives of the Ugandan people.
Missionaries in China – In 2014 Daystar was able to donate toward Dennis and Kathy Balcombe’s ministry in China, supporting their missionary efforts and helping to provide and distribute Bibles to the underground church in the area. Our partners have continued to give toward this important cause, enabling Daystar to continue sending Bibles to the underground church and bringing the total donated to date to over $220,000.
Each ministry or organization has a special focus, and whether it be providing relief to typhoon and tornado victims, assisting a church community in India, helping to build a women’s hospital in Uganda or bringing Bibles to the underground church in China, Daystar is committed to partnering with like-minded individuals to show the love of Christ to all people, and to bring His message to the ends of the earth.
“With the constantly changing 24-hour news cycle, events world-wide create a need to help the many worth-while ministries needing financial gifts to reach the hurting, downtrodden and lost,” says Marcus Lamb, President and CEO of Daystar Television Network. “Daystar Television is thrilled to say that our wonderful partners have made it possible to give toward many such projects.”
