In the wake of the massive storms which hit North Texas during the end of December 2015, Daystar was able to shine a light of hope through a $5,000 donation to the local area Red Cross.
The donation went towards providing food, shelter and immediate relief to those affected by the storms, many of whom lost their homes and everything they owned.
The North Texas Region of the Red Cross was one of the first to respond within the immediate aftermath, sending feeding trucks, 4,000 blankets, 2,000 cots, 2,000 comfort kits, along with 25 relief workers to the scene of the storm. Quick response time is critical to the care and survival of those most affected by natural disasters, and donations from local partners are what enable this to take place.
“As many of you are aware, parts of the Dallas area were hit very hard with several tornados causing many in our community to lose everything they own,” says Marcus Lamb, Founder and CEO of Daystar Television Network. “We at Daystar have the honor of giving to ministries, missionaries, churches, schools, individuals and other organizations, spreading God’s love and salvation. We also feel it is our Christian duty to give back to our community in times of disaster. Through Red Cross, we donated $ 5,000 to their Disaster Relief Fund, providing immediate shelter and food for those in need. Thank you to our partners for making this possible!”
