2014 has definitely been an awesome year full of growth, new advancements and exciting projects! We’re so blessed by the things God is doing through Daystar, and we are looking forward to more amazing things in 2015.
With that being said, here are 14 things Daystar Loved in 2014:
1. Daystar Television Network is now the Largest Christian Television Network in the United States. There are 115 million homes in the U.S. and Daystar is on in 108 million of those homes! Daystar is reaching more people with the Gospel of Christ than ever before, and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to do so all across the United States and around the world.
2. Cablevision New York City – the single largest cable system in America – renewed Daystar’s carriage contract for 10 more years.
3. Daystar launched in HD (High Definition) this year. After making significant advancements and upgrades to our equipment, we were able to do this, in order to bring our viewers the best possible signal. Almost all of our TV Stations are broadcasting Daystar in HD in their “over the air” signal which can be received via antenna. Daystar has launched in HD on some Charter Communication systems, and will soon be launching on other cable systems in HD as well. The Israel Cam is also now available in HD, as well as the Daystar apps for iPhone, iPad, Android devices, Kindle Fire and Roku, and the Live Stream on the Daystar website – Daystar.com/live.
4. Daystar is Debt Free – what a huge blessing! This enables us to be good financial stewards, and in turn be a blessing to others and impact more people around the world.
5. Daystar launched across the entire nation of Thailand. Not only is this exciting because of the increased reach of Daystar, but, since Thailand is predominantly a Buddhist country – over 90 percent of the population – Daystar has a wonderful opportunity to spread the Gospel to those who might never have heard it before. Praise God for this expansion!
6. Our Founder and President, Marcus Lamb, was given invitations to speak at mega-churches all around the globe. Just this year, he spoke at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas (America’s largest Church) for Joel Osteen; Hillsong in Australia for Brian Houston; New Creation Church in Singapore for Joseph Prince; City Harvest Church in Singapore for Kong Hee; and Casa De Dios in Guatemala that seats 12,000 for Pastor Cash Luna, among others. Daystar is thankful for this opportunity to connect with different ministries around the globe, and share the love of Christ with new people.
7. Not only does Daystar have apps for iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire and Roku, but Daystar now has an app for Android devices. The new app for Android launched on January 29, 2014! So if you’re an Android user, be sure to check it out and download the Daystar app today.
8. Joni Lamb and the Daystar Singers and Band released a new CD this year – No Chains! An uplifting and empowering CD, No Chains features a vast array of musical color with everything from foot-tapping praise to traditional gospel music and beyond. If you haven’t picked up a copy yet, be sure to visit DaystarSingers.com to learn more.
9. Daystar is growing, and recently acquired some additional land, bringing the total acreage to 23 acres on the freeway at Daystar’s international headquarters in Dallas, Texas. This addition will provide for future growth and expansion, allowing Daystar to reach more people with the Gospel.
10. You! Daystar is more than grateful for the generous and faithful support of our partners around the world. Because of you, Daystar was able to bless and minister to people in places like Uganda, Moldova, Israel, Iraq, India and China. You truly are making a difference across the globe, and we are so thankful for you!
11. Daystar had the opportunity to air some exciting live events and conferences this year, including the 2014 Hillsong Conference from Sydney Australia, for which Daystar was the exclusive partner! The conference was amazing, and featured inspiring speakers such as Bill Hybels, Brian Houston, Louie Giglio, Stephen Furtick and Robert Madu.
12. Daystar’s “Heart for a Soldier” campaign was launched during Daystar’s Summer “Heart for the World,” and it was very successful. Daystar was able to provide Israeli soldiers in Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Divisions 188 and 401 with critical, protective eyewear to guard against the sun and harsh environmental elements such as dust, dirt and wind. The sunglasses were donated right before war broke out in Israel, so Daystar sees this as God’s perfect timing – those sunglasses were able to help protect the lives of Israeli soldiers serving on the front lines near the fighting in Gaza.
13. The Green Room launched as an official, on-air program on February 27, 2014! Fun, insightful and often humorous, The Green Room features Jonathan and Suzy Lamb as they interview and interact with your favorite Marcus and Joni and Joni Table Talk guests.
14. Daystar aired a new live event called “Seeds of Promise” on Marcus and Joni in December, and it was very powerful! Seven young adult speakers came to share their testimonies and encourage viewers to never give up on praying for the young people in their lives. This was also Daystar’s first year participating in Giving Tuesday (#GivingTuesday) – a national movement focused on giving back and blessing others – which was used in conjunction with “Seeds of Promise.” This was a fun and exciting program to produce, and undoubtedly blessed those who were watching.
Partners, thank-you again for helping to make 2014 such a great year– we pray that you have a blessed and joyous New Year!
