There is hope beyond the stars that shine in radiant glory.
As His handiwork from sun to moon tell His ageless story.
Creator and sustainer send light to the drifting child,
As young and old will rest assured that He will send His smile.
A doom sat upon humanity before the birth of the first man,
As the evil one schemed to thwart God’s redemption plan.
“Faint not, be strong,” the Father’s voice proclaimed!
Help comes to all who will but trust in my Name.
The Garden was adorned with a bridge to His Presence,
The souls of earth found love’s purest essence.
Under a canopy of heavenly stars that shone in a golden ray,
Timelessly pointing men of all ages to Calvary’s Celestial Way.[/pullquote4]Astronomers estimate that there are about 100 thousand million stars in the Milky Way alone. It has been said that counting the stars in the universe is like trying to count the number of grains of sand on a beach. In 1999, the Hubble Space Telescope estimated that there were 125 billion galaxies in the universe, and recently the new camera HST has observed 3,000 visible galaxies which is twice the amount observed before. A recent German super-computer simulation estimates that the number of galaxies may be as high as 500 billion! Astrophysicists agree that as observations progress and astronomers explore more of our universe, the number of galaxies detected will increase. The stars, galaxies, sun and moon are all the handiwork of God who grants light upon the earth. As a star shines in the midnight sky, so does Christ who gives light to those in the midst of darkness.
In John 8:12 Jesus proclaims, “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Darkness is upon us, and we are in need of His light to show us the way. As a metal detector has the ability to locate a weapon of destruction, His light with pin-point accuracy, shines on the places of the heart in need of spiritual recovery. Don’t run from His light, dear child — embrace it. Ask Him today to shine light on those places in your life that need love and the power of healing. Take heart, my friend. He who is the Light of Heaven wants to shine upon you with His eternal glory as you journey along your earthly pilgrimage. Like Mother Teresa, let us become a global beacon of love and compassion allowing His light to shine through us.
He dawns on them like the morning light, like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning, like rain that makes grass to sprout from the earth (2 Sam 23.4).
Hope in God is the irrefutable evidence that faith and love are still alive.
