Setup & FAQ for LIVE Daystar on your Mobile Phone using VidiStream
 
Daystar is the world’s first Christian TV Channel in the world to offer a new groundbreaking service that enables our TV audience to watch live TV on your mobile phone.  Our viewers can stay in touch with Daystar and our community wherever you are in the world.

Which devices are supported?
 

Nokia 7650, Nokia 3650, Nokia 3660, Nokia 3620, Nokia N-Gage, N-Gage2 ,Nokia 6600, Nokia 6620, Nokia 3230, Nokia 6682, Nokia 6680, Nokia 6681, Nokia 6670, Nokia 6260, Nokia 6630, Nokia N70, Nokia 7610,Sony Ericsson P800, Sony Ericsson P900 ,P910I are currently supported. Support for other devices are being developed.
 
How do I subscribe to the service?

Signing up, couldn't be easier.

First - click the following link and complete the online registration process.

On the first page you will see images of the mobile phones currently supported by the service and similar to the one below:

Step 1

Select the image that matches your mobile phone and a new page opens...



Step 2

Check that the model number of your phone is shown on the list and click the arrow to continue.

Please note, that if your mobile phone model number is not shown here, then it is unlikely to work with our mobile TV service. We are adding new models all of the time, so please check back in the future.

A new screen will open, asking you to check whether you have data services available on your phone.



Step 3

You need to ensure that you have data services available on your mobile phone (GPRS, 3G, etc). Not all operators enable these services by default, so unless you know your phone to be enabled, it is worth actually checking before subscribing. You can do this by following the simple procedure below:

Open the browser on your phone (usually the "Internet", "Information" or "Services" option on the menu)

Type into the address box http://www.vidistream.tv/daystar

You should be automatically connected to the mobile TV web site and the Daystar logo should appear
4 Close your browser and continue the subscription process on your PC



If you are unable to connect, then contact your mobile phone provider, who should be able to enable the service for you.

Once you know that your mobile phone is GPRS/3G data enabled then click the confirmation arrow on the subscription page to continue.

The next screen is where you can select the service you wish to subscribe to.



Step 4

Select the duration for which you wish to subscribe and click the arrow icon to the right of the appropriate period to continue.



Step 5a

Complete the registration form, being careful to enter your mobile phone number in international format, in both locations.

Confirm that you accept the terms and conditions of the service, and click the submit button at the bottom of the page.

You will then be redirected to the WorldPay secure server, which is the last step in the subscription process before connecting.

 

Select the card type you wish to use to pay for your subscription.



Complete the secure form with your payment details and click "make payment" at the bottom of the form.

Congratulations

You have now completed the subscription process and you should soon receive a text message on your phone. On opening the message, the video player software should be downloaded and installed. Follow any instructions (if you receive any) for installing the player, then switch your phone off and on.

You may receive a second message, which is the address of the video service on the internet. Upon opening the second message, save this bookmark for accessing the service from within the web browser / 'Services' menu.

Select this service and the video player will be activated. You will then be directed to the content portal, where you can select the Daystar Icon and start watching Daystar TV live on your mobile.

Frequently Asked Questions


What if I don't have one of these phones?

The mobile phone TV service provider is Vidistream Limited in the UK. They are adding new phones to the supported list all of the time and may be able to help you. visit Unsupported Phones for further information.

How much does it cost to access the services?
 
The service costs are dependant on the services you choose. Some services are charged by the clip - others by paying to accessing services by the day or month. For services charged by a time period, you can access the specific service as many times as you like during the quoted time period.

Depending on your data tarriff with your mobile phone operator, you may also be charged for the GPRS/3G usage by your mobile network operator
 
Why only the listed phones?
 
The phones are currently the only mobile phones able to handle the video player and video streaming process.  We are adding new phones to the service regularly, so it is well worth checking back from time to time. Alternatively, you may prefer to upgrade your handset to a supported phone, which we may be able to assist you with. Click here for further details.
 
What networks is the service available from?
 
The service is available on almost every network in the world although a few operators may restrict its use. Basically, if you have data connectivity, you should be able to connect and use the service.
 
What if the service is not on my network?

What are the additional network charges?
 
In addition to the service cost, your network provider may also charge basic data costs, which is calculated on the amount of data that is transferred. For further information, please contact your network provider.
 

What data plan do I need to go on?
 

Make sure you have you have requested a data service with your network operator and ask for a low cost data plan. Dependant on usage you should get at plan with a least 10Mbytes per month. The mobile video service operates over a GPRS or 3G (2.5G and 4G) network so make you are on a data plan, not just a voice plan, with your network operator
 
Why do I see warning messages when I try to install the video player?
 

The video player is third party software, which is not recognised by the mobile phone operating system. If you accept the warniing the software should operate normally. please email support@vidistream.tv if this happens.

If you prefer to speak to a support representative in person (either to subscribe to our service or for assistance subscribing), you can call during our office hours (Monday – Friday, 09:00 to 18:00, UK time) on

Calls are charged at £1.50 ($2.73) per minute and we will always do everything we can to keep your call to a minimum.
 

What should I do if I change my handset but keep the same SIM card?
 

Contact support@vidistream.tv and we will resend the text message so that you can download and activate the player on the new handset.
 
What should I do if I accidentally delete the video player?
 
Contact support@vidistream.tv and we will resend the text message so that you can download and activate the player again.
 

Can I have more than one device registered against my mobile number?
For security reasons it is only possible to have one device registered against your mobile number. The device you have registered most recently will be treated as the registered device
